Our Featured Levels
The Xcel Program offers a flexible and affordable competitive gymnastics experience designed for athletes who want to grow, compete, and stay involved in the sport—without the intensity of the traditional Developmental Program.
This program is ideal for athletes looking to balance gymnastics with school, other activities, and a well-rounded lifestyle, while still being part of a team and a competitive environment.
Bronze
The Xcel Bronze level introduces gymnasts to competition in a fun, supportive environment. It’s also a great option for athletes who want to experience a team without a heavy time commitment.

Minimum age: 5 (must be 5 before first meet)

Comparable to: Developmental Levels 1–2
Silver
Silver builds on foundational skills while continuing to develop confidence and consistency in a competitive setting.

Minimum age: 6 (must be 6 before first meet)

Comparable to: Developmental Levels 3–4
Gold
Gold athletes begin performing more advanced skills and routines, with increased expectations for strength, technique, and execution.
Minimum age: 7 (must be 7 before first meet)
Comparable to: Developmental Levels 4–6
Advancement: Score a 32.00 All-Around (AA) or an 8.0 on an individual event to progress as an Individual Event Specialist (IES)
Platinum
Platinum athletes continue to build higher-level skills, combining strength, flexibility, and consistency across all events.
Minimum age: 8 (must be 8 before first meet)
Comparable to: Developmental Levels 5–7
Advancement: Score a 32.00 All-Around (AA) or an 8.0 on an individual event to progress as an Individual Event Specialist (IES)
Diamond
Diamond represents advanced Xcel competition, with athletes performing higher-level skills and routines.
Minimum age: 9 (must be 9 before first meet)
Comparable to: Developmental Levels 7–8
Sapphire
Sapphire is the highest level within the Xcel Program, designed for athletes performing advanced, high-level skills with greater difficulty and execution expectations.

Competition opportunities vary by level:

Bronze & Silver compete during a fall season from September through December

Gold through Sapphire compete during the traditional season from December through mid-April, culminating in the Xcel Regional Meet
Throughout the season, athletes compete against other gyms across the region and receive feedback from certified USA Gymnastics judges.
Through training and competition, gymnasts continue to build skills, confidence, and consistency—while enjoying the team environment and the excitement of meets.

At Gleason's, we believe competitive gymnastics should challenge athletes while fostering confidence, character, and a lifelong love of the sport. Our Xcel athletes are encouraged to work hard, support one another, and celebrate progress both inside and outside the gym.
