Setting Up An Evaluation
New to Gleason's?
New to gymnastics?
Not sure what class to
register your child for?
All of our recreational classes start at the beginning:
-
Girls Beginning A (ages 5-7)
-
Girls Beginning 1 (ages 8+)
-
Boys Beginning (ages 6+)
-
Beginning Tramp & Tumbling (6+)
-
Free-Running Kids (ages 7-10)
Recreational students must pass the Beginning class or be evaluated by Gleason's staff to enroll beyond the introductory level. To set up an evaluation, call the office at 651-454-6203.
Preschool classes do not need evaluation as they go by the student's age as of September 1st during the School Year Session (June 1st Summer Session) and remain in the same class for the entire session, regardless of when they have a birthday.
Class Placement Policies
Have questions on what class to register your child(ren) for?
Careful class placement is extremely important to ensure success for each student and create classes that are as homogeneous as possible in regard to skill levels. To this end, everybody must understand and follow our class placement policies.
-
Except for our Beginning classes and Preschool program, all classes require prerequisite skills. New students must complete a skill evaluation before enrolling in any class other than Preschool or Beginning A/1 to ensure they are placed in the program that best matches their current ability level.
-
Our Preschool classes are based on age only. Children are placed according to their school age as of September 1 for the school-year session (June 1 for the Summer Session) and remain in that age group for the entire session, just as they would in the public school system. They do not move to a different class when they have a birthday during the session.
-
Children enrolling in our Beginning school-age classes will be evaluated during their first class and placed into the Beginning group that best matches their skill level and previous experience.
-
Please note: All class placements are considered tentative until our coaching staff has had the opportunity to evaluate each student and determine the most appropriate class placement.
