The art of Aikido is a Japanese martial art that is based on the physical, spiritual and philosophical teachings of Morihei Ueshiba. Aikido is known as a peaceful art, and can be best described as a martial art that teaches primarily self-defense techniques while at the same time aiming to protect the attacker from unnecessary injury.
